•Jasmine. As a stimulant or a sedative it is an excellent antidepressant and aphrodisiac.
•Acne. For the occasional pimple, apply one drop of tea tree oil directly to acne spots.
•Cold and flu. Sinus pressure, congestion, upset stomach, and pain are just a few of the symptoms that can drag us down during cold and flu season. Try taking a hot bath and adding eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil and lavender oil to the water. Eucalyptus is an excellent decongestant and immune booster, peppermint helps with sinus pressure and soothing your tummy and lavender aids in relaxation and helping you to get restful sleep.
•Insomnia. Use oils like neroli, chamomile, sandalwood, marjoram, and lavender. Mix these oils warm water and take bath before sleeping or sprinkle few drops in the pillow so that you can smell it for whole night.
•For quick relief nausea put a few drop peppermint essential oil on cotton ball and place in a plastic bag to carry with you. Inhale the scent whenever you start to feel sick.
•Lavender oil is an essential oil to have in your homecare kit. It is an anti-depressant, useful for tension, headaches, for insomnia, indigestion and is both soothing and pain relieving.
•To maintain concentration, maintain your focus by diffusing rosemary essential oil in work place.
•Carrot seed oil. To reduce visibility of spider veins, mix 2 drops with 1 tablespoon vegetable carrier oil and massage into affected area once a day, preferably at bed time.
•Insect bites. For quick relief from mosquito or chigger bites, rub tea tree oil on them. Tea tree oil is generally safe to apply direct to skin, but do an allergy test first.
•Bath and soak. Mixes fours to six drops of pure essential oils to one ounce of Epsom salt, milk, or carrier oil such as olive or jojoba before adding it to the hot bath. It’s a wonderful way to relax with an aromatherapy benefits to soothe the skin.
•Rose geranium. Helps to heal inflamed skin and balances sebum production.
•Neroli. This essential oil is derived from the flower of sour orange tree. It contains charming and refreshing fragrance. It is helpful in relieving anxiety and acts as a kind tranquilizer which invigorates the skin. It also motivates the development of new cells.
•Rosemary. One of the more stimulating essential oils. It helps in achieving mental alertness and improving blood circulation, as well as boosting the immune system. It also helps in relieving muscle tension and improving your mood.
•Arthritis. Add 10 drops each of rosemary and chamomile to a warm bath and soak for ten minutes.
•If you are pregnant or nursing, consult with your doctor before using aromatherapy.
•Don’t apply essential oils directly to the skin. Always read the precautions on each bottle before using them.
•Always keep essential oils out of the reach of children. It is preferable to put it in a locked cupboard or locked carry case.
